Job Title:  Accounts Receivable Manager

     The Accounts Receivable Manager will manage the daily operations and strategic objectives of the accounts receivable cycle through design, implementation, maintenance and management of accounts receivable functions and procedures for the collection process.  Reports directly to Controller

Key Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review cash receipts processing to ensure accurate application of payments received from clients
  • Manage outstanding invoices including interfacing with client representatives to collect payments due on time
  • Resolve client disputes regarding invoices
  • Prepare aging schedules for clients as required
  • Reduce old outstanding invoice balances
  • Prepare reports for management to show collection issues and what is being done to resolve them
  • Maintain the client profile database and ensure its accuracy
  • Participate in client team meetings to help resolve issues that may exist
  • Supply information for monthly departmental report
  • Follow-up on invoices sent to ensure receipt and agreement to pay before they reach past due status
  • Tie-out open balances between systems
  • Develop and implement solutions to recurring client issues
  • Co-ordinate with other departments  for collection and verification matters of problem accounts
  • Investigate short and skipped payments



  • Good verbal and written communication and people skills
  • College degree valued but not required
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential material
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with spreadsheets, Quickbooks and word processing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • May require occasional travel
  • Customer-first focus
