Developer, Business Intelligence

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The technical data engineer on the Data Analytics team is responsible for ensuring seamless execution and delivery of products and services within the Data Management suite by building, testing, deploying, and maintaining reporting applications including those that integrate with databases/data lake.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Help the team to develop and test report scripts to import and blend data from various source systems
  • Implement automated QA processes for data exchanges to and from CMI and adhering to protocols and SDLC process where applicable
  • Work with senior team members to create health reports to continuously monitor the integrity of the data we touch
  • Query data to identify gaps and/or trends for the purpose of data analysis & integrity
  • Assist in the troubleshooting all system, user and list related issues as they arise
  • Oversee the maintenance of internal archiving system architecture for all data assets using MS Windows, update SOP’s and communicate changes to staff
  • Ensure adherence to confidentiality protocols as they relate to data exchanges
  • Assist in gap analysis & internal data audits
  • Assist in the monitoring, analyzing, and improvement efforts of reporting system performance, accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage the development and execution of projects designed to support media teams in fulfilling brand needs, including, but not limited to, reports/dashboards
  • Manage the requirements of data needs for custom projects, aggregate data sources, troubleshoot issues as the arise and analyze the data for insights enablement
  • Help to identify new and emerging datasets within the marketplace when possible for integration with proprietary data
  • Act as data expert on all incoming and outgoing data feeds & report deliverables on assigned brands
  • Assist in the creation of POC’s for products and services using existing tools to automate reporting & QA

  • Successfully implement QA processes and procedures
  • Act as the subject matter expert of the data we ingest and report on
  • Able to successfully develop or modify queries for data & gap analysis
  • Successfully execute on day-to-day operations within the Data Analytics practice
  • Exhibit clear understanding of our platforms used for data feeds and reporting

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 1-2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL or other programming language
  • 2+ years of experience developing reports and dashboards via Business Intelligence tools such as QlikView, MicroStrategy or Tableau
  • 2+ years of experience blending structured/unstructured data
  • 1-2 years of experience working with secondary data for marketing
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must possess strong analytical skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills
  • Must possess willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment
  • Experience working with or servicing pharmaceutical and other life sciences companies preferred
