The Director, SEO manages the overall relationship related to SEO for a select set of clients, lead the development of SEO strategies, develosp team members’ SEO skills, and reports to the SVP of Search Engine Marketing. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead overall SEO strategy and execution for large pharmaceutical/healthcare clients
  • Establish relationships with senior level internal and external shareholders
  • Guide department on new product offerings, adapting our SEO effort to industry changes
  • Support new business efforts, being able to speak to all DRIVE services (SEM, SEO and social media)
  • Develop a deep understanding of client disease states and prescription drugs, helping them leverage SEO to reach HCPs, patients and caregivers
  • Oversight of team SOWs, billable goals and pacing
  • Help clients bridge the gap between SEO, social media and PR
  • Leverage your expertise in technical SEO to ensure client websites are created and maintained properly
  • Contribute to thought leadership pieces, keeping CMI and our clients up to speed on the latest trends in the search space
  • Support direct reports and help them to develop into top level contributors
  • Research new SEO tools and recommend use for our clients
  • Travel to onsite meetings to showcase CMI SEO Capabilities, monthly reports and status meetings
  • Manage workflow of junior team members to ensure client deliverables are out on time
  • Develop a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical market and how search plays a role in the decision-making process
  • Analyze data in order to make optimization recommendations to be implemented by junior team members
  • Ability to perform keyword research, write optimized HTML tags, provide recommendations on internal linking, content promotion, content creation and implementation of schema mark up
  • Analyze performance data and implement optimizations to increase ROI of campaigns
  • Partner with analytics and media teams to develop KPIs and measurement plans
  • Stay abreast of new tools, trends and best practices in search marketplace through research and/or industry events and conferences
  • Utilize tools such as Majestic SEO, MOZ, BrightEdge, Google Webmaster tools and other to perform analysis of client websites
  • Be familiar with social listening and how it can help drive content strategy
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 8+ years of SEO experience
  • Knowledge of Web Analytics software, such as Omniture, WebTrends, Google Analytics and SEO Tools such as MOZ, Majestic SEO, BrightEdge, Spyfu and others
  • Ability to make recommendations of statistically significant data sets
  • Strong business and leadership skills to make independent decisions affecting the daily operations and management of campaigns
  • PC proficiency and solid working knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel, basic knowledge of pivot tables and V-Lookups
  • Knowledge of organic search ranking factors with the ability to make recommendations on HTML optimizations a plus
  • Healthcare/Pharmaceutical background a plus
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, business or any quantitative or analytical related fields
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients and supplier partners
  • Entrepreneurial skills and outlook
  • Strong communication skills and leadership presence
