Manager, Business Intelligence


The Manager of Business Intelligence is among the leaders of the technical delivery team and is responsible for assisting in the strategic vision for short-term and long-term process enhancements including the automation of our reporting systems as well as data management. He/She will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality for all data exchanges to and from CMI Media Group. Additionally, he/she will assist in making recommendations to internal and external stakeholders on client deliverables as appropriate, and assist with development and delivery of data products within the data management suite.


  • Design, develop, and test report scripts to import and blend data from source systems
  • Mentor junior staff members
  • Work with team members to create and automate health reports to continuously monitor the integrity of the data we touch
  • Work with management and other DA team members to create dashboard prototypes
  • Help to standardize reporting processes across the Data Analytics practice
  • Monitor performance of reports and dashboards and take corrective action to optimize and improve performance as necessary
  • Work with management to automate QA efforts as they pertain to reporting, data, dashboard creation and execution
  • Troubleshoot data issues related to reporting and database systems as they arise
  • Ability to query data to identify gaps and/or trends for the purpose of data analysis
  • Update/maintain process documentation as needed
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality protocols as they relate to data transfers
  • Assist in the development of new data assets and services that lead to incremental revenue growth
  • Capture data gaps and opportunities relating to Empower service offerings
  • Maintain and build relationships with key customers (internal and external) and partners
  • Lead tasks to monitor, analyze and improve reporting system performance, accuracy and efficiency
  • Continuously seek improvements in all areas of reporting including, but not limited to, analysis, data, tools, process, performance, data quality, education, and communication
  • Perform UAT on all data-related production migrations into our Media Lake


  • Successfully develop QA plans and help to automate and implement them and streamline where possible
  • Able to successfully develop or modify queries for data and gap analysis
  • Ensure execution of assigned technical projects are done effectively and within established timelines
  • Act as subject matter expert on all of our platforms used for data feeds and reporting


  • Lead/mentor a team of junior developers
  • Oversee/review, and approve all deliverables when required before they are transitioned to internal/external customers


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics/business intelligence
  • 3+ years of experience leading/managing technical projects
  • 6+ years of experience designing, developing, and executing intermediate-level code in any programming language (SQL, R, Python, etc.) for data validation or data blending
  • 5+ years of experience developing dashboards/reports via Tableau or other BI tool
  • 4+ years of experience blending data from structured/unstructured data sources
  • 3+ years of experience working with relational database structures
  • 3+ years of experience translating business requirements into actionable analysis and reporting
  • Experience with performance tuning a reporting platform or database structures
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring a team of junior analysts
  • Must possess strong Analytical Skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative approach to achieving goals
  • Must possess willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment
  • 3-4 years of experience working with secondary data for marketing preferred
  • Experience working with or servicing pharmaceutical and other life sciences companies preferred
