Vice President, Digital Activation

As a key leader within our agency, The VP, Digital Activation leads CMI/Compas offerings and provides thought leadership across digital channels, both internally and externally. This role oversees a team charged with the development of Digital Media strategies and tactics including but not limited to SEM, SEO, Social Media, Programmatic, and Contextual Marketing. Additionally, this role will lead the development of appropriate plans designed to meet clients’ brand and marketing objectives. These plans will include implementation and performance analysis.

As part of the leadership team, the VP, Digital Activation is responsible for building and maintaining strong external relationships with appropriate clients, vendors, suppliers and agency partners in collaboration with their assigned teams. Similarly, the VP, Digital Activation will establish key relationships with internal stakeholders across all applicable disciplines. This role is deeply versed in the buying, execution, and subsequent evaluation of biddable-based media strategies, including interaction with Google, Microsoft, Programmatic DSP’s, Facebook, Reddit and other paid media partners as well as social listening, content creation and syndication through social profiles. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead development of digital strategies and analysis for clients (e.g., target audience recommendations, timing/scheduling strategy, partner selection, etc.) across areas of SEM, SEO, Programmatic, Video, Contextual, Social Media, etc. in alignment with other senior leadership
  • Lead Thought Leadership efforts by authoring and reviewing Digital Media related POVs, Case Studies and insights based on industry updates, trends and findings
  • Work with department leads to leverage social listening tools and keyword trends to lead strategies and analyze competition and audience segments
  • Partner with media and analytics leadership on assigned clients to ensure coordination across teams delivers fully integrated media plans
  • Represent the organization in public forums on Digital Media, as appropriate
  • Together with other senior leadership, establish CMI as an authority in digital media, specifically in the healthcare sector
  • Serve as point person for senior client relationships; both existing and prospective, leveraging thought leadership and innovative points of view to strengthen client relationships and develop further business opportunities
  • Partner with Channel Department Leads on submitting teamwork for industry wide awards and recognition
  • Conduct and keep current, a market-place assessment that identifies gaps and opportunities for the agency to expand business; from both a client/brand and pharmaceutical perspective
  • Assist with negotiating client contracts and pursuing/achieving beneficial pricing models as needed
  • Work with other senior leadership and Client Finance team to maintain accurate scoping projections and staff count
  • Assist in leading new business or growth opportunities within assigned accounts and partner with agency stakeholders on deliverables
  • Establish key relationships with internal stakeholders across all applicable disciplines including Analytics, Media, Ad Ops, Client Finance, etc.
  • Recommend and deploy proprietary products and practices
  • Identify and action cross-channel collaboration opportunities and efficiencies
  • Mentor senior level direct reports; develop their strategic and business skills
  • Develop annual staff development plans and ensure delivery against them
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 7+ Years experience managing Digital media accounts (Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook, TTD, etc) preferred, or equivalent experience • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, business or any quantitative or analytical related fields
  • 7+ Years of team management experience
  • 5+ Years of managing supplier relationships • Strong web analytics background and project management skills • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience in tools such as Omniture, Google Analytics Kenshoo, Search Ads 360 (DoubleClick), the Trade Desk, Synthesio, Hootsuite, Screaming Frog, BrightEdge, etc • Experience managing profiles, paid advertising and analytics across networks such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest, YouTube
  • Experience in programmatic publisher, platform, and audience suppliers, especially in the areas of Audio, Video, and Connected TV • Healthcare/Pharmaceutical background a plus
  • Knowledge of organic search
  • Ability to lead Digital Media best practices, strategy, and execution
  • Passion for working in a fast-growing healthcare media agency
