Adweek – New Bill Proposed Against Platforms Over Children’s Addiction to Social Media

A bill under consideration in California would allow people to sue social media companies for being “addictive to children.” Two of our experts were interviewed for this Adweek article and can guide you on this and all things social media – Alexandra Gilson, VP, Paid Social and Andrew Miller, EVP, Digital Activation. As they and the article explained, this isn’t yet a law and so there’s still a lot of uncertainty around it. However, it’s important to note that social media companies continue to be a safe place for brands and keep up well with the changing landscape. “Unless there are changes to the targeting capabilities within the platforms for the brands, it’s a safe place for the brands to serve their message,” Andrew noted.
